Jaguar X-Type 2.2 Diesel

Jaguar’s X-Type Diesel range moved up a gear in 2006 with the addition of a new 2.2 litre diesel model. Jaguar equipped its new X-Type 2.2 diesel model with a turbo charged engine and six speed manual transmission. The purpose of introducing this car was to provide excellent performance, fuel economy and comfort. Truly, Jaguar 2.2 diesel was designed and powered as a perfect economical car, which was not just designed to be economical but was also to be capable of giving good performance on road. Jaguar started sale of this new 2.2 diesel model in September 2006. Bibiana Boerio (Managing Director of Jaguar Cars) was so sure about the success of 2.2 X-Type as the arrival of Jaguar in the diesel market.

Enhanced fuel injection system, turbo charger and exhaust gas controls were superb of this car, therefore the dream of Jaguar for achieving low CO2 emission levels, even 159g/km in the saloon. NVH (noise, vibration and harshness) all things were perfectly minimized in 2.2 X-Type to ensure excellent levels of refinement, and that was the goal of Jaguar to deliver a car that can offer great performance than the 2.0 litre vehicles. Another most interesting things in this 2.2D model was its bolt-on-front end (BOFE) structure, the lightweight aluminum beam which was hidden behind the front bumper to reduce the weight and the repair time. After manufacturing 2.2 X-Type diesel Jaguar also won the Gold Plant Quality Award in Europe for Halewood.
